I will be sending an update to the birth mom every 6 months until Durant is 6 and then annually until Durant is 18. I will be posting the letter on the blog (minus the bm's personal info). A lot of the pictures I will post with these letters are repeats from pervious posts because she only gets pictures at the time of these updates. It has been difficult to pick and choose pictures and to cram all the details of the past 6 months into a letter, but I tried....

Dear birth mom,
We hope you
are doing well and enjoying the New Year this far. It is hard to believe Durant
is 6 months old. The time has flown by and it has been so fun watching him
grow. He is developing such a great personality and demeanor. You can see by
the pictures he is a smiley happy baby. He is laid back and goes with the flow.
He loves to squawk and squeal. He gets loud when no one is paying attention to
him but, he follows the scream with a smile. He makes us laugh every day!
Durant is
now 16.5 pounds and 26 inches long. He is in the 50th percentile for
weight but only the 25th percentile for height (our little peanut!).
At the end of January, he started rolling over. The very next day he was
scooting all over the living room. His favorite thing to do is to chase the dog
around. He either goes for the dog’s collar or tries to steal his chew toy.
Within the last couple of weeks he has mastered sitting up. I just know he will
be crawling soon! It’s amazing how quickly he is catching on to all these new
things.
At the end
of November, Durant tried rice cereal for the first time. He is now eating all
veggies, fruit and love oatmeal! He loves all food and has not turned down any
new vegetable or fruit.
Durant had
his first plane ride to California meeting more family and celebrating his
first Halloween. We went back to CA to celebrate Christmas. He was spoiled
rotten by all of his aunts, uncles, and grandparents. We have even gone to
South Ohio, twice, to visit family. This year we have plans to travel to North
Carolina, Seattle, and head back to CA for Durant’s first birthday. Durant is
quite the traveler! When we aren’t traveling, we have fun hanging out at home,
going on walks, and spending time with friends. Durant went to his first
professional basketball game in February, Wizards vs. Sacramento Kings. Durant
made it on TV in CA and he even got to meet a few Kings Players and the Kings
mascot, Slamson. We all had a blast. I see many more games in his future.
Durant has
grown and developed so much in the last 6 months. He is becoming such a funny
happy boy. We have been so blessed by his presence in our lives. We think of
you often and pray that you and your family are doing well!
Hope you
enjoy the pictures!
Love,
Nathan,
Meghan and Durant
